Does the split duct go over the conduit?
No, it is designed to butt up against the conduit and the split couplings go over the outside of the split duct and conduit being repaired.

What are the standards for split duct?
There are no standards for split duct, so it does not have a full ETL/UL listing. Generally, it is used by telecomm companies or utilies that do not require a ETL/UL listing. Some inspectors have allowed non-listed split duct to be used based on Section 90.4 of the NEC. Special permission should always be obtain prior to the installation.

Can Split Kits be used with poured concrete?
Prime Conduit (Carlon) does not recommend pouring concrete over split duct and kits.

Can Split Kits be used in below ground installations?
Prime Conduit’s (Carlon) Schedule 40 Split conduit repair kits (SK4020, SK4025, SK4030, SK4040, SK4050, &  SK4060) are designed  for use with both rigid PVC nonmetallic Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 Conduit in both above ground and below ground installations.
